International Foundation For Anticancer Drug Discovery IFADD fights for the lives of late-stage cancer patients who have been prematurely "written off" by their medical teams, told that nothing further could be done for them, and thus sent home to die. For those patients who are not willing to surrender without a fight, IFADD often becomes a salvation, providing information at the patient's request about other oncologists who might be more proactive in their treatment recommendations, and less willing to give up on the patient. In addition, IFADD provides multi-faceted program services, which may include a strategic clinical trials roadmap or, when appropriate, a request for the compassionate release of a drug from its pharmaceutical manufacturer. Since complete, long-term remission – or cure – is still an elusive concept in many cancers which have metastasized, the goal for most patients is stable disease and prolonged life.
