Those of you new to Arizona may not have heard of Marshall Trimble but to us old timers Marshall "is" Arizona. The late Senator Barry Goldwater wrote, "Arizona’s colorful history is alive and well with Marshall Trimble."

Marshall Trimble is often referred to as the "Will Rogers of Arizona" and is one of the most sought-after banquet and convention speakers in the state. He's appeared on ABC's Good Morning America, The Nashville Network, and CBS’ This Morning. The cowboy singer-storyteller has performed with Rex Allen, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Lee Lewis and the Oak Ridge Boys. He’s been featured many times on PBS programs on history and folklore, including the award-winning KAET production “Legends and Dreamers.”

Arizona native son Marshall Trimble began his career as a folk singer in the 1960's with the Gin Mill Three. In 1972 he formed another folk group, Donnery and Rudd. His first book, "Arizona" was published by Doubleday and Co. in 1977. He returned to the stage, this time as a solo act, performing as a cowboy singer, storyteller, and poet. Today he is one of the state's most popular entertainers. He appears frequently on radio and television as a goodwill ambassador for the state. In 1997 the governor of Arizona appointed him Official Arizona State Historian.

Marshall is the author of nineteen books on Arizona and the West. He writes a monthly column, "Ask the Marshall" for True West Magazine. He's the spokesman for Saba's Western Stores and Prescott's famed Palace Restaurant and Saloon.

Marshall has taught Arizona and Southwest history, music and folklore at Scottsdale Community College since 1972 and is recognized as the dean of Arizona historians. In 2000 he was selected as one of the states representatives in the Library of Congress Honors program, Local Legacies.

Marshall served in the United States Marine Corps. Received Meritorious promotion, MCRD Boot Camp 1957. Finalist for First Battalion Series Honor Man and Marshall's son, Roger is a member of the class of 2001 at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
