Mark your calendar to join us from 6pm-9pm, Wednesday, February 20
at The Vintage Grape
located at 2525 E. Camelback Rd.,
(Across from Roy's and McCormick & Schmick's at the Esplanade).
My Special Guest this week is Ms. Tina M. Rhodes, President and
Owner of S&R Publishing and Professor of Web Development at
the Phoenix DeVry Institute of Technology.
To contact Ms. Rhodes:
To say that Baron has computer challenges would be a major understatement!
Hardly a day goes by that he's not on the phone to his battalion of computer
and internet experts marshalling forces to keep his computers up, his web sites
current, and his Soiree notices out (the most challenging of all).
Heading up this daily assault of highly skilled professionals is Ms. Tina Rhodes.
Ms. Rhodes has been Baron's webmaster for about two years now and has
worked on projects that include everything from artistic logo design (Ms. Rhodes
designed Baron's business card) to advanced database applications. She has
most recently assisted Baron in the creation of an automated database-stored
emailing process for the Soiree's mailings as well as a secure Internet interface
for maintaining Soiree email information.
Her company S&R Publishing works with each customer individually to produce
Internet and Intranet websites that are specifically catered to meet their needs
(in both English and Spanish). Whether it's simple site updates, marketing help, a
variety of hosting plans or advanced data driven e-commerce sites, Ms. Rhodes
can assist you in getting onto the Web quickly and easily. In addition,
S&R
Publishing produces E-Books with a wide variety of technologies and methods
of distribution--not the clunky kind that requires special hardware to read, but
Browser-readable books!
In her role as professor, Ms. Rhodes teaches college students Web Interface
Design (i.e., "how to make it look pretty AND usable"), Web Application
Development (i.e., "how to make it functional") and Web Architecture
(i.e., "how to set up the network infrastructure to support the website"). In
addition to her classroom responsibilities, she often works closely with seniors
on projects which they must complete in order to graduate. The projects are
completed for businesses, governmental agencies and non-profit organizations.
Currently a DeVry Senior project is working on making the Soiree Archive
available on the Internet as a searchable database. So, keep your eye on Baron's
site because you'll soon see a new look and some great new features.
It is with great pleasure that Ms. Tina M. Rhodes, President and Owner of
S&R Publishing and Professor of Web Development at the Phoenix DeVry
Institute of Technology will be my Special Guest this week.
Please plan on joining us to socialize and meet new friends!
