Many grocery stores, pizza parlors or other places that
accommodate children often have a bank of vending
machines offering various items such as stickers, tattoos,
toys, and candy. Brand Imports specializes in selling
the temporary tattoos, stickers of all sizes and colors
and the vending machines. Lauri started her business
eight years ago after selling a successful vending route
in San Francisco. Upon moving to Scottsdale she
decided that she wanted to move into the
wholesale arena by supplying vending operators with
merchandise.
In 1991 Lauri launched her company right out of her
garage with only one line of tattoos. Since she had
spent a year living in Taiwan some years earlier she
had developed some good contacts to supply her
with a superior quality tattoo to what was offered
in the United States. The response was tremendous
and her business grew rapidly. Lauri soon
had several lines of stickers and tattoos and moved
from the garage to a 12,500 square foot warehouse
in the Scottsdale Airpark.
What sets Brand Imports apart from their competitors
is the quality of their product and their ability to create
new products to merchandise. Two years ago they
introduced the giant sticker which is four times the size
of regular stickers. This giant sticker sells for only one
dollar and has been a benchmark in the flat vending industry.
Along with the sale of regular stickers Brand Imports
has exclusive rights to many pop and rock bands.
Some of their most popular stickers are of the Backstreet
Boys and NSYNC. Just recently they received the rights
to Ricky Martin.
Lauri loves her work. It's very creative and fun, with
impressive growth, from 1.2 million gross sales in their
first year to 12 million in 1998.
It is with great pleasure that Lauri Brand, owner and founder
of Brand Imports will be our Special Guest this week.
Please plan on joining us to socialize and meet new friends!
d David Dean of Unity Software Systems will be our Special Guests.
