Levi was born on a buffalo farm in Kansas on July 12, 1995. He arrived the same day that Josiah was born at the park. Levi and Josiah share the position of dominance and often look out for each other. Levi can be distinguished from Josiah by the lack of hair on his belly. An African Lion's strength is considerable, they can easily knock down prey three times their size.
Josiah was born September 5, 1995 to Solomon and Malaika, the only cub in the litter. His grandfather is Java. So Josiah carries the Cape lion genetics, the belly mane and the wild, more dangerous nature. The males' mane distinguishes them from females, making them appear larger. It is common to see nomadic males form small prides or coalitions with one another to help in survival.
