Left handed James Linton began playing guitar at age 4. Soon after he began composing his own melodies. James studied music theory, performance and technique with well known Detroit rock guitarist Mike Cross, of Sponge, along with other veteran musicians. Throughout the 90's James played lead vocals and guitar with many cover bands who looked to his capabilities in song writing for their originals.

Those of you familiar with Detroit will recognize many of the hot spots James performed at including Harpo's, The Ritz, State Theater, and Token Lounge...

In the late 90's James turned his attention towards the influences of Classical Guitar. This led him to pursue his own path as a solo guitarist, blending aspects from both world's of music. James describes his sound as using a classical technique in a pop format.

James has just completed a self-titled 11-song CD of original compositions. No instruments other than guitar were used. "There are no drum machines, no synthesizers, no New Age whale sounds, just me and a guitar," he said, "I love classical music because it really moves me."

James will be playing for us at the Soiree and will have his CD's available for sale.
