Richard Gitter is the kind of guy you want backing you up
when the game gets rough. A black belt in Bridge, Richard
is revered by his peers as an "Expert" Champion. Concentration,
Focus, Determination, People Skills, and a very good Memory
are the attributes required for this game of nerves.
Bridge was born out of the game of Whisk which was played
in the 1800's in Europe. In the early 1930's Charles Goren
revolutionized Whisk into what is now known as Modern Day
Bridge. Mr. Goren created a more sophisticated game which
appealed to the social elite of the time and the Modern Game
of Bridge was an immediate success. At one time approximately
one tenth of the total United States population played Bridge!
Today Bridge is played world wide. To see just how BIG Bridge
has become check out the Bridge Atlas at
www.greatbridgelinks.com/gblATLAS
or the World Bridge Federation at
www.worldbridge.org
Richard has always been a card player. Now 45 years old, he
began playing bridge at the age of 24 in his home town of New
York City. In 1991 Richard moved to Arizona and in 1996 he
turned Pro.
Bridge is a team sport played by 2 or 4 individuals. There are
two basic forms of Bridge. Social Bridge and Competitive
Bridge. Richard has five Competitive Bridge students he tutors
and together they play all over country. Group or individual
lessons are a good way to start learning the game at the
Social Level and Richard is available to teach either. Later as
your skill increases you may wish to seek out Richard to introduce
you to Competitive Bridge.
It is with great pleasure that, Richard Gitter, Professional
Bridge Expert and Certified Bridge Instructor, will be
my Special Guest this week.
