Why is our super secrete Central
Intelligence Agency (CIA)
appearing as the Soiree's Special Guest? Because they need
our help!
Our CIA is at the forefront on the war against terrorism. This
is a new type of war. Prior to the fall of communism the roles
of the CIA and that of our enemies were fairly well defined.
The CIA would impersonate diplomats and the enemy would
impersonate diplomats and everyone knew and played by the
ground rules.
The landscape is very differenct today -- the enemy may be a
free lance nuclear, chemical, or biological scientist, or a company
supplying ingredients or parts to build a rocket, nuclear device,
chemical, or biological weapon. The target set has changed
radically and knowing who the enemy is and what they are doing
presents a major challenge.
To counter this new form of warfare the CIA is calling on the
business community to serve as a force multiplier. Our support
is a critical! Today the CIA is exploring ways for the business
community to help them see and hear the enemy. To act as
cover for the CIA's agents to infiltrate the enemy by posing as
buyers, financiers, and brokers of all types of commerce. To
be alert and aware of any avenue that our enemies may use to
obtain financing, weapons or ingredients to make weapons or
parts to make weapons.
I personally find that Mr. Stelloh's (Ren) appearance as our
Special Guest puts a very human face on what has been a very
secrete organization. Ren could be your next door neighbor and
yet he and thousands more are working 24/7 to protect us all
against the radical almost maniacal, groups of fanatics to whose
all-consuming goal is the total destruction of the United States.
Ren has been associated with the Central Intelligence Agency
for many years. During the period 1986-99, Ren served in
management and leadership positions overseas and at CIA
Headquarters. His Headquarters assignments included service
in the Near East and South Asia Division, the Director of Central
Intelligence's Counterterrorist Center, the Directorate of Operation's
Human Resources Staff, and the National Resources Division.
Ren also served as Special Assistant to the Associate Deputy
Director for Operations and to the Deputy Director for Operations.
Ren was promoted into the Senior Intelligence Service in January
1996. In June 1999, the Director of Central Intelligence, George
Tenet, designated Ren to serve as his Intelligence Representative
in Los Angeles covering the Southwest United States.
Prior to his association with the CIA, Ren served as a Foreign Service
Officer in the Department of State and with the Foreign Service in
Europe and South Asia.
Ren received a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from The American
University in 1973 and graduated in 1977 from the Marshall-Wythe
School of Law, College of William and Mary with a Doctorate of
Jurisprudence. Ren is a member of the Virginia State Bar and
speaks Persian.
