People are continually fascinated with the broad range and
quality of our Special Guests. I am constantly being asked
how I meet so many interesting people and then persuade them
to appear as our Special Guest. Well sometimes they just fall
into my lap!
Take Lisa Crampton of Airborne Express. There I was working
at my office preparing to meet my 10am appointment, a referral
consisting of a mother and daughter who I had never met. When
at 9:58am Lisa walks into my office. Thinking Lisa was the daughter
I pulled her up a chair, asked her if I could get her something to drink,
and began some small talk while waiting for her mother to arrive.
After a few minutes I asked Lisa where her mother was? She told
me in Alabama! This didn't make much sense. That's when Lisa
told me she had never been treated so nice by anyone she had made
a cold call on before. I asked her what she meant and that's when
I discovered Lisa was not my intended 10am appointment but
rather a solicitor for Airborne Express! Okay. She is very pretty,
I use and love Airborne, and maybe Lisa would like to join us at
the Soiree and perhaps be our Special Guest one day.
So here we are! I am really thrilled to host Airborne Express for I
have used them for years without incident whereas one of their
major competitors lost two out of three of my overnights, one of
them containing a check for $450,000! So I love and believe in
Airborne Express and want to take this opportunity to share this
with you through Lisa Crampton, my unlikely 10am appointment.
Here are a few select facts about Airborne.
1979-81: Airborne Express is born. After purchasing Midwest Air
Charter, Airborne buys Clinton County Air Force Base in Wilmington,
Ohio, becoming the only carrier to own and operate an airport.
Their package sort center opens, creating the "hub" for the
hub-and-spoke system.
1994: Airborne opens its Ocean Service Division, becoming
the first express carrier to introduce ocean shipping services
and Airborne Logistics Services (ALS) establishes the first new film
distribution program for the movie industry in 50 years.
1995: Airborne opens a second runway at its hub, which is now
the United States' largest privately owned airport. They also expand
their fleet, acquiring Boeing 767-200 aircraft.
1998: Airborne posts record profits and enters the Fortune 500.
The Business Consumer Guide rates Airborne as the Best
Air Express Carrier for the 4th consecutive year.
2001: Airborne launches Ground Delivery Service and
10:30 A.M. Service, giving Airborne a comprehensive, full-service
industry competitive capability.
Airborne.com launches its Small
Business Center, as well as a variety of enhancements to help all
business customers speed and simplify the shipping process.
Advanced tracking features are added to
Airborne.com and
Airborne eCourier is released, enabling customers to send
confidential, signed documents electronically.
2002: Airborne shows the Soiree they have the best
looking sales reps in the business.
Airborne features service to over 200 countries worldwide
with air express, air freight, and ocean freight delivery, and
now eCourier!
One last point. A few of my clients swear by Airborne and
have actually recommended Airborne to me not knowing I use
them. They tell me that Airborne provides the best service at
the lowest price.
It is with great pleasure that Lisa Crampton, Airborne Express,
will be my Special Guest.
