Our Mission To provide Stepping Stones for Success through education of children and families who have limited opportunities.
Our History
Since Hurricane Katrina, our 1938 Douglas DC-3 has made several humanitarian trips to provide relief to disaster areas. Relief in the form of airlifting homeless and abandoned animals out! A part of our goal is to use the Douglas DC-3 as it was originally designed, to move heavy loads out of danger. Quickly and safely. Hurricane, Flood, Tornado events all generate homeless pets. These animals deserve a second chance.
Animal Rescue Is Our Mission
We want to focus on coordinating with humane societies, working groups, and other non profit animal organizations to get these animals quickly out of kill centers before it’s too late. The DC-3 can safely carry animals and volunteers. Our goal is to make the aircraft available when needed, and to cover our own fuel and operating costs. We are just in the new stage of setting this up, your expertise in the animal/vet world is appreciated. We need coordinators and logistics people too!

International Foundation For Anticancer Drug Discovery
IFADD fights for the lives of late-stage cancer patients who have been prematurely “written off” by their medical teams, told that nothing further could be done for them, and thus sent home to die. For those patients who are not willing to surrender without a fight, IFADD often becomes a salvation, providing information at the patient’s request about other oncologists who might be more proactive in their treatment recommendations, and less willing to give up on the patient. In addition, IFADD provides multi-faceted program services, which may include a strategic clinical trials roadmap or, when appropriate, a request for the compassionate release of a drug from its pharmaceutical manufacturer. Since complete, long-term remission – or cure – is still an elusive concept in many cancers which have metastasized, the goal for most patients is stable disease and prolonged life.

Shriners Hospital for Children
At Shriners Children’s, we are committed to reaching as many children as possible, wherever they may live, and offering them our unique, patient-centered, wrap-around care.
For most of its history, our health care system has been known as Shriners Hospitals for Children. As we adapt to current nationwide trends in health care, especially the emphasis on outpatient care, and some locations become clinics or outpatient centers, we have introduced the phrase “Shriners Children’s.” It is shorter and more definitive – clearly stating who we are and what we care about. We are Shriners and our commitment is to Children. In today’s fast-paced world, this short phrase helps to succinctly and clearly define us.
Since opening our first hospital in 1922, we have been devoted to providing high-quality specialty medical care to the children and families who come to us, regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status. A century later, our commitment hasn’t changed — only expanded.
